ALFA BIO takes production to the next level with InfoConsulting’s IFS Cloud upgrade

ALFA BIO, a Slovak producer of vegan plant-based foods and the market leader in tofu in Europe, has decided to upgrade its existing IFS business information system to the latest version of IFS Cloud. ALFA BIO will thus support its current growth, process modernisation and investment in cutting-edge technologies. IFS Cloud will bring improved functionality and user experience, as well as support for innovative technologies such as AI and machine learning. The upgrade will be handled by InfoConsulting Slovakia.

“We have been working with InfoConsulting for many years, and during that time we have built a strong relationship based on trust. We are confident that they can offer us the best knowledge and solutions to help us optimize and significantly expand production planning within our company. We are confident that the scalability and strength of the solution will allow us to dynamically expand our business by introducing innovative new technologies that will lead to operational efficiency and growth.” describes Filip Moravcik, Head of IT, ALFA BIO.

Jozef Kováčik, InfoConsulting Slovakia, adds: “ALFA BIO is an ambitious company focused on the quality of its products, with a willingness to innovate and adopt modern technologies to achieve its strategic goals. It is excellent news that they have chosen IFS Cloud to help them move forward on their path to success. We look forward to working with them to help ensure their goals are realized.”

Customization and integration of production technologies

Over the years of using the IFS Applications 9 ERP system, ALFA BIO has developed its own processes, which it naturally wanted to transfer to the new solution. It was therefore necessary to carry out customer-specific modifications. IFS Cloud will be directly integrated with some of ALFA BIO’s (not only) production technologies, such as raw material weighers, finished product weighers, label printers and OCR.

Ambitious implementation timetable

The implementation was preceded by a detailed analysis and process mapping, which will save time during the actual implementation of the new ERP and make the work easier for both parties. The go-live of the project is planned for October/November 2024, only 9 months after the start of the technical preparations. However, this would not have been possible without the time spent in preparation by both parties.

IFS Cloud simplifies updates with the “evergeen” model

One of the benefits of moving to IFS Cloud is that customers will not have to worry about future upgrades. IFS has completely changed the way it markets and delivers new functionality to customers. Every spring and autumn, IFS releases a new version of the system with new functionality, and deploying it in the customer environment is simplified by a set of tools that IFS markets under the common brand name of Lifecycle Application Experience. This makes subsequent updates to the business information system faster and easier.

Since last year, IFS Cloud has also included support for achieving ESG goals, demonstrating IFS’ position as a global leader. Thanks to InfoConsulting, companies in Slovakia and the Czech Republic also have the opportunity to use state-of-the-art technology to manage their processes efficiently and meet changing market demands, as is now the case with Slovak food producer ALFA BIO.
